Keeping You Informed

NC State is the state’s largest university, home to more than 36,000 students. We want to share our wealth of knowledge with each student — and faculty and staff members as well.

That’s why we’ve gathered all of our news and events information into one helpful location. Here, you can learn more about our signature events, religious holidays throughout the year, access our events calendar, and keep up-to-date on diversity and equity news by subscribing to the OIED newsletter.

Religious Holidays

The NC State community respects all faiths and cultures. Several religions prohibit working on certain holidays. To aid staff, faculty and supervisors with scheduling events and activities, a short list of some holidays on which students, staff, or faculty may not be able to work or attend class is provided below.

Please note that this list is not exhaustive. There are holidays that do not appear on this list. Please try to avoid conflicts in scheduling major meetings, exams and other major events and work with students, faculty and staff to accommodate these observances. We have also include other helpful information on religious holiday observances.
