Associations and Networks
Associations and networks are great resources to access materials to further your professional development, such as webinars, publications and journals. They also serve as a great resource to further your professional networks. The following resources feature content focused on race, equity and inclusion and include further information about upcoming conferences, webinars and literature on best practices.
- The Black Doctoral Network (BDN) is a clearinghouse for individuals of African descent who are holders of or scholars engaged in the pursuit of doctoral degrees from accredited institutions of higher learning worldwide. We provide opportunities for networking and collaboration and foster interconnectedness within the black intelligentsia for the purpose of eliminating the achievement gap among persons at all education levels while creating a pipeline for the most underserved students toward the upper echelons of the academy and beyond.
- Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity: is an interdisciplinary engaged research institute at The Ohio State University established in May 2003. Their goal is to connect individuals and communities with opportunities needed for thriving by educating the public, building the capacity of allied social justice organizations, and investing in efforts that support equity and inclusion through research, engagement and communication.
- Race Equity Institute (Greensboro): an alliance of trainers, organizers and institutional leaders who have devoted themselves to the work of creating racially equitable organizations and systems to help individuals and organizations develop tools to challenge patterns of power and grow equity.
