DEI Awards
New in 2023, OIED will present six DEI Awards for DEI professionals at the annual RED Event.
FAQ: The Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Awards
Read on for more information about these inaugural awards, sponsored by OIED’s Diversity Equity Fund:
Like the Chancellor’s Creating Community Awards, the Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Awards will be given to individuals who have made exceptional efforts and contributions in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion. Since OIED employees and others whose job descriptions include DEI work are not eligible for the CCCAs, the DEI Awards were created in 2023 to recognize outstanding NC State employees in these areas.
These awards are intended for NC State employees whose job descriptions include DEI work (this includes employees in the Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity). Employees with a minimum of two years of DEI work at NC State are eligible for consideration. Nominees should demonstrate a consistent pattern of commitment to the creation and promotion of diversity initiatives that establish and foster a more inclusive and equitable environment while advancing the strategic priorities of the NC State community.
In this inaugural year, there will be six DEI awards given at $500 each, sponsored by the OIED Diversity Equity Fund.
NC State employees who work in DEI roles on campus will vote for the nominees after submissions close.
