Embracing Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging in 2024

Engage with the diversity and equity community at NC State by participating in the #24in24 program—a year-long initiative designed to inspire and foster engagement in 24 diverse, equity-focused experiences throughout 2024. This program offers an exciting opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to actively participate in a range of activities, conversations, and events centered around the principles of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB). By engaging in these experiences, participants will enhance their perspectives, promote understanding, and contribute to the development of a more inclusive community on campus.

How to Participate

Explore: Discover 24 unique DEIB experiences curated by the Inclusive Excellence and Strategic Practice unit of the Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity (OIED). These experiences will encompass workshops, discussions, cultural events, volunteer opportunities, and more.

Engage: Choose the experiences that resonate with you and actively participate. Attend workshops, join discussions, volunteer for community service, and immerse yourself in the diverse cultural events throughout the year.

Share: Use #24in24 on social media platforms to share your experiences, insights, and reflections. Celebrate your journey with the NC State community and inspire others to join the initiative.

Find Featured Activities and Events on Campus

As a participant, we encourage you to seek out the following types of events and activities:

  • Education: Participate in interactive workshops and training sessions focusing on cultural competence, allyship, and creating inclusive spaces.
  • Events: Attend diverse cultural events, performances, art exhibitions, and film screenings representing different cultures and perspectives.
  • Service: Engage in volunteer opportunities that support marginalized communities and contribute positively to society.
  • Connections: Contribute to awareness campaigns, events, and initiatives promoting DEIB values within the NC State community. Expand your network of contacts with individuals who hold different identities and beliefs than you. Connect through conversations, discussions, and deep reflection on applying DEIB practice to your work-life integration.
