Umoja is a Kwanzaa principle that centers on unity. Within the context of this relationship-based program, our goal is an expansion of blackness through the unification of black student organizations.

The purpose of the Umoja Affiliate program is to create a unified space to bring together Black student organizations to promote unity and expansion in the Black student community in the following ways:

• Encouraging collaboration, not duplication for programming
• Contributing to the direction and progression of the African American Cultural Center
• Creating spaces of opportunity to invite new students into a vibrant community
• Centering the African American Cultural Center as a hub for Black student life
• Fostering a culture of assessment that transforms Black experiences
• Blossoms leadership and professional development spaces
