Message from the Campus Community Centers on Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday message from the four Campus Community Center directors

Dear Wolfpack Community,

Usually, messages from our Campus Community Centers focus on the wide array of programs and services that we provide to the NC State community. Today, on Giving Tuesday, we hope you will take a few minutes to consider what these programs mean to you and many other students, faculty and staff members.

We are excited to be part of a Giving Tuesday campaign lasting through the week to uplift diversity, equity and inclusion at NC State. Our directors send the following messages about what this day can mean for their centers and the work they do to support the Wolfpack.

The African American Cultural Center is celebrating 30 years of creating home at NC State!

…that is 30 years of our bringing people together in the spirit of bese saka!

…that is 30 years of creating a space that stands with fortitude and readiness to meet the everyday needs of our students who face a variety of challenges. We do this in the spirit of mframadan!

…that is 30 years of timeless relationships built in collective and individual power in the spirit of ese ne tekrema!

Join us in celebration and donate $30 for 30 and with faith in the future, $30 for another 30! We are because you are!

When you give to the African American Cultural Center’s Enrichment Fund you directly contribute to:

  • programming that cultivates educational advancement of NC State students;
  • the leadership development of NC State students, including their individual agency and collective identity;
  • the ability for NC State students to feel supported, affirmed and included within the university.

The mission of the NC State GLBT Center is to engage, develop and empower members of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities and their allies. We do this work through identity-affirming programming and support, active partnership and coalition building, and promoting awareness and education with respect to the issues faced by members of the GLBT community and their allies. By supporting our work through donations on #Giving Tuesday, you are helping to create an affirming and welcoming campus community.

Multicultural Student Affairs

Melissa Faircloth
Melissa Faircloth, director of Multicultural Student Affairs

This academic year, Multicultural Student Affairs has hosted many programs that support the needs and retention of underrepresented and underserved students on campus. An exceptional example of this is our Symposium for Multicultural Scholars, which connects students to campus resources, extends a sense of community, and provides mentorship opportunities at the very beginning of students’ college trajectory. We invite you to support the continuation of programs like these by giving to the Multicultural Student Affairs (MSA) Enhancement Fund. In addition to Symposium, your gift supports students through leadership development and conference opportunities.
