Bronze Award

Criteria

Bronze Awards recognize institutions “based on commitment and action to assess and remove structural and systemic barriers to the inclusion of all individuals of talent, which enhances quality of learning and work and supports STEM excellence.” Applications include:

  • An in-depth, data-rich self-assessment of institutional makeup, policies, culture and climate;
  • Identification of “data gaps” and methods to collect missing information in the future;
  • Identification of significant issues and barriers related to DEI;
  • A SMART action plan.

Timeline

  • November 2021: Assemble SEA Change Team and gather data
  • December 2021–February 2022: Analyze data
  • February–March 2022: Draft narrative and SMART goals
  • March 2022: Solicit feedback from campus partners 
  • April 2022: Submit Bronze Award application
