The Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity seeks nominations for the 14th annual Chancellor’s Creating Community Awards, which recognize outstanding faculty, staff, colleges/organizations/units, students and student organizations that have made exceptional efforts and contributions in the areas of equity, diversity and inclusion.

In an effort to recognize the contributions of NC State alumni in diversity and inclusion practice, the Alumni Legacy Award has been added to the Chancellor’s Creating Community Awards nomination process.

The 2020 award categories include:

  • Outstanding Faculty Award
  • Outstanding Staff Award
  • Outstanding Student Award (Undergraduate and Graduate)
  • Outstanding College/Organization/Unit Award
  • Outstanding Student Organization Award
  • Alumni Legacy Award

One award will be given in each area. Individuals, colleges/organizations/units and student organizations may self-nominate. The deadline for nominations is Feb. 28, 2020.

The awards will be announced on Wednesday, Apr. 22, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. in the Coastal Ballroom, Talley Student Union during the annual Recognizing Excellence in Diversity (RED) event.

Note: OIED staff and other university employees whose key job responsibilities connect with equity, diversity and inclusion are not eligible for these awards. In addition, student organizations focused on equity, diversity and inclusion may only be nominated for the award if their activities exceed the scope of their organization’s mission and objectives.
