The Women’s Center Presents: Footnotes on 4:44 and Black Masculinity

  • Want to evaluate popular culture through a critical lens?
  • Want to engage in critical conversation and dialogue about the intersection of race and gender within American society, musical artistry and college campuses?
  • Want to discuss themes of social justice through the effects of Black masculinity?

If so, come for the 4:44 listening party on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the Women’s Center, which will feature this recent work by recording artist Jay-Z,  and stay for the dialogue. The Footnotes to 4:44 listening party is hosted by the NC State Women’s Center with our partners, the Black Male Initiative and the African American Culture Center, and will spotlight the themes of Black masculinity, Black intimate relationships, what it means to be Black in America, and more. Come share your critique of the album and/or your perspectives.
