The Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity held its culminating events of the academic year last week, including the AYA Graduation on April 26, 2016, the annual Ebony Harlem Awards program on May 1, 2016 and the annual Chancellor's Creating Community Awards program on May 4, 2016. Sisterhood Dinner Celebrates 35th Anniversary with Record Attendance

A ticket to this year’s Sisterhood Dinner, held on February 29, 2016, had a bit more cachet than usual due to tickets selling out two weeks earlier than expected. In addition, ten extra tables brought total event attendance to about 600 NC State faculty, staff, students and guests, filling the State Ballroom in Talley Student Union for an evening celebrating women and their accomplishments.

MLK Campus Commemoration Inspires

Byron Pitts of ABC’s Nightline graced the NC State campus with his encouraging message on Monday, January 11, 2016 for this year's MLK commemoration. With over 30 years of experience, Pitts shared his message of "overcoming to become" and paying it forward for the campus listeners. Before Pitts went on stage, the African American Cultural Center and Student Media held a small lunch for aspiring journalism and media students.
