Reclaiming Our Coins: Ujamaa Friday Vendor Fair on February 23

Reclaiming Our Coins: Ujamaa Friday Vendor Fair will take place in the African American Cultural Center in Witherspoon Student Center, Room 356 on Friday, February 23, 2018 from 2:00-6:00 p.m. As we come to the close of Black History Month this event embodies andĀ celebrates the word ujamaa, which means extended family” or “brotherhood” in the Swahili language and is the fourth principle of Kwanzaa, which promotes the support of Black businesses.

With a current roster of eight different Black-owned businesses, Ujamaa Friday will provide NC State students, local college students and community members opportunitiesĀ to purchase clothing, literature, posters, arts, jewelry, body care and other products that reflect Pan-African culture and history. Please join the African American Cultural Center in “Reclaiming Our Coins” by buying Black at this month’s Ujamaa Friday.
