Reclaiming Our Coins: Ujamaa Friday Vendor Fair on February 23

Reclaiming Our Coins: Ujamaa Friday Vendor Fair will take place in the African American Cultural Center in Witherspoon Student Center, Room 356 on Friday, February 23, 2018 from 2:00-6:00 p.m. As we come to the close of Black History Month this event embodies and┬ácelebrates the word ujamaa, which means extended family” or “brotherhood” in the Swahili language and is the fourth principle of Kwanzaa, which promotes the support of Black businesses.

With a current roster of eight different Black-owned businesses, Ujamaa Friday will provide NC State students, local college students and community members opportunities┬áto purchase clothing, literature, posters, arts, jewelry, body care and other products that reflect Pan-African culture and history. Please join the African American Cultural Center in “Reclaiming Our Coins” by buying Black at this month’s Ujamaa Friday.
