Diversity Dialogue to Delve into Issues of Diversity and Inclusion at NC State

Diversity Dialogue

Join us at this year’s spring campus Diversity Dialogue on Monday, February 26, 2018 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. in the Cinema, Witherspoon Student Center. All students, faculty and staff are invited to join this dialogue on current and common diversity and inclusion issues being discussed at NC State, as well as on other college campuses.

Spring Diversity Dialogue: “From Dialogue to Action”

The spring Diversity Dialogue, “From Dialogue to Action,” will provide facilitated discussion to promote awareness and understanding of different dimensions of diversity as it relates specifically to NC State’s campus culture. This forum will allow individuals to go beyond a discussion of problems and challenges to skill-building, action and allyship.

The dialogue will include a broad range of perspectives from student panelists. Participants are strongly encouraged to use this opportunity to actively listen and learn from the experiences of others. In addition, to promote a broad discussion of ideas, there will be an opportunity to openly disagree without being disagreeable. The dialogue will provide an opportunity to share, change and/or challenge your own knowledge, as well as to listen to the thoughts of others and build skills for more effective interactions, dialogue and conflict resolution.

The Diversity Dialogue will be facilitated by (Bill) William E. Leftwich, III. Leftwich is principal consultant and CEO of the LS Strategic / L3 Group. The group was founded in 2001 and is an authority on human resource issues pertaining to equal opportunity programs, issues of race, diversity strategies and training. From 1994-2001, Leftwich served as deputy assistant secretary of defense for equal opportunity at the Department of Defense.

Tracey Ray is assistant vice provost for student diversity.
