Do You Have a Program for Diversity Education Week?

Diversity Education Week

Diversity Education Week 2017The Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity has issued a call for programs for NC State’s Annual Diversity Education Week, to be held October 22-28, 2017. Registered student organizations, university offices, departments and colleges are invited to host programs and events.

Diversity Education Week (DEW) calls on the strengths of NC State’s diverse student body to equip NC State students, faculty and staff with 21st-century global skills. DEW advances learning and scholarship, builds understanding and respect among different peoples and enhances constructive leadership and dialogue in both local and global communities. Through education and engagement, it promotes awareness and understanding of diverse cultures and fosters intercultural understanding.

The annual celebration is known for engaging opportunities including lectures, workshops, panel and group discussions, film, food, music, dance and more.

OIED strongly encourages campus-wide support through the submission of programs to be hosted during the week. To submit a confirmed program/event that you will sponsor during Diversity Education Week, please complete the submission form by Wednesday, October 6, 2017. We are looking forward to an amazing week of programs and events! Please contact Dr. Tracey Ray, assistant vice provost for student diversity, at teray@ncsu.edu or 919.515.9243, with questions.
