An Emergent Conversation: Rest, Revolution and Liberation Featuring Scholar-Activist Yaba Blay

The Women’s Center is excited to announce our keynote speakers for our 2021 Women’s HERstory Month event are:
Yaba Blay, a scholar-activist, public speaker, cultural consultant and creator of #professionalblackgirl.Natalie Bullock-Brown, teaching assistant professor in the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies at NC State.Campus community center student-scholars Joanay Tann and Kali Filhart.Participants will have the opportunity to obtain a copy of Blay’s new book, One Drop. This book explores the extent to which historical definitions of race continue to shape contemporary racial identities and lived experiences of racial difference. Event planners will randomly select 25 people to receive the book. To get the book, you must register to attend this event, stay for its entirety and be able to pick up the book from the Women’s Center.
