First-Generation College Students Invited to Participate in Summit

New first-year and transfer first-generation college students are invited to participate in nav1Gate, a professional development workshop, on Sunday, September 23, 2018.

At nav1Gate Summit, students will:

  • connect with other first-gen students and staff members;
  • complete a personal strengths inventory;
  • apply strengths to achieving goals for success at NC State;
  • build a success plan for their first year.

Lunch will be provided to all participants, and there is no registration fee. Space is limited.

nav1Gate Summit is part of First in the Pack, an NC State initiative geared toward connecting first-generation college students with campus resources, faculty, staff and other students at NC State. First-generation college students are any students whose parents did not complete a four-year college degree. Learn more about First in the Pack.

For faculty/staff: If you were a first-generation college student and are interested in getting involved with nav1Gate Summit or another First in the Pack initiative, please contact firstinthepack@ncsu.edu.
