Institute for Emerging Issues Kicks Off Book Drive for Childrens’ Literacy

In partnership with Reach Out and Read Carolinas, the Institute for Emerging Issues (IEI) has kicked off a statewide children’s book drive to help #FillTheShelves for child literacy in North Carolina. This initiative launches ahead of IEI’s February 5-6, 2018 Emerging Issues Forum, kidonomics: Investing Early in Our Future.

IEI is issuing a friendly one-week challenge to all departments, colleges and institutes to bring in the most children’s books from faculty, staff, students, neighbors, etc. The books should be dropped off at Hunt Library by Friday, January 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. (4th floor, outside of IEI’s offices). Online monetary donations also can also be made. The winner of the challenge will receive a $50 discount on a kidonomics Forum ticket.
