The Department of Multicultural Student Affairs is excited to announce that we are now accepting applications for Symposium Counselors and Peer Mentors! The deadline for both applications is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2015. Please apply ASAP!

1) Symposium Counselors serve as facilitators for the three-day Symposium program in August, which welcomes multicultural first-year and transfer students to campus. Symposium Counselors help coordinate and facilitate program sessions, serve as resources for student participants and generally assist with all aspects of the program. Symposium Counselors will also serve as mentors within the Peer Mentor Program. This paid position involves spring training but is primarily focused during the second week of August.

2) Peer Mentors are bright, energetic, civic-minded individuals who serve as student mentors for the 2015-2016 Peer Mentor Program. The goal of the Peer Mentor Program is to aid in the academic, emotional and socio-cultural adjustment of culturally diverse first-year students (mentees) at NC State. Mentors serve as peer support personnel and share program goals and responsibilities aimed at ensuring the retention of student participants. This volunteer position involves a one-year commitment.
