At NC State, we strive to set the bar for educational opportunities across the board, from the classroom and the lab to the community and everywhere in between. In the Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity, we integrate this philosophy into all our trainings, workshops and other educational opportunities.
We want all members of the campus community to feel welcomed and supported, and to know that the dignity of all people is respected and valued. Equipping people with the skills and knowledge to be allies in this area is a crucial component of our efforts.
At the Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity, we offer a variety of free hands-on trainings for all faculty, staff and students throughout the university community.
Campus Community Center Trainings
Each of our four campus community centers offer their own unique set of trainings to increase understanding of diversity, equity and cultural competency.
Cultural Competence at NC State
Cultural competence benefits the university, individuals, groups, communities and societies by increasing the capacity for meaningful interpersonal interaction and cross-cultural understanding within the context of an increasingly globalized society fraught with both domestic and international tension and conflict.
Equal Opportunity and Equity
Our Equal Opportunity and Equity (EOE) unit offers training on federal, state, UNC System and NC State laws and policies, including Americans with Disabilities Act, Discrimination and Harassment Prevention and Response, Fundamentals in Equal Opportunity and Search Committee Training.
Whether you have a question about diversity, or want to find ways to promote diversity and equity at NC State, we’re here to help. We’ve created and collected a wealth of resources from across campus to assist you with your needs.
